They say time waits for no man, however, time is also the tenderest comfort for every man. It makes us forget our grief, and soothe our wounds. Time is also the most fascinating magic. It ignites the ephemeral  fireworks in a blink, and also creates the eternal music.

This is the feeling given by the album “In A Time Lapse” created by Ludovico Einaudi. It brings out the magical feeling flowing with the passing of time.

In this album, Ludovico Einaudi combines piano, electronic, and percussion to depict the abstract image of time. The concept is modern, the music is classic.

The violinist Daniel Hope gives the most beautiful interpretation with the diverse melodies of the orchestra in the background.

We let down all of our guards, and let time guide us through our memories and experiences in our lives. Following the music, we go into the unknown.

In “Time Lapse”, electronic notes appear one after another like the sparks shining in the night sky. They burst in the darkness, spark and fade out, leaving the shining afterimage. The sparks soon disappear, but they never stop. Before the spark fades out, the next one follows and creates a new shining spark in the darkness. Like every short and dazzling moment, they happen suddenly and pass away in a blink, but they never rest.

“Life” begins with electronic notes, and the gentle piano melodies join in. The music is like the raindrops falling from sky, becoming water running on the land. The water nourishes the land, and wakes up the lives. The sound of the orchestra goes ups and downs, and the string music played by Daniel Hope is warm and elegant, just like life. The music of violin goes forward with time, and after the submerge, it becomes excited with the orchestra. The orchestra encourages the violin to play its bright and colorful music, its music climbs up, sometimes with struggles, but after the struggle, the violin finds its way and keeps going to the unknown.

“Experience” is my favorite in this album. The piano plays first, and Daniel Hope’s violin music is soft and tender. It reminds us of our secrets. Daniel Hope pulls the strings of the violin, and our hearts’. Those experiences cannot be described and memories cannot be forgotten are now being told in the music. We are afraid to repeat the memories because we don’t want that happiness to remind us how much we have lost, while sadness reminds us of the future we might encounter. The music understands, and its restless melodies speak out our anxiety. The strings are pulled back and forth, like our love and hatred towards ourselves. However, no matter how much happiness and sadness we have in those experiences, music makes us relieved.

Looking back with Ludovico Einaudi’s music, every moment is peaceful fulfillment.
